Please don't despair and do keep writing! Your blog is one of my regular stops. Laconic visitors are not all bad but today you have jarred me into writing. Anna Thomas in The Vegetarian Epicure Book 2 has a great carrot-yogurt soup.
saute (recipe says in butter but I prefer olive oil)1 onion and 2 cloves of garlic until golden brown. add 1/2 tsp each of mustard seeds, tumeric, ginger,salt(+/-), ground cumin, and 1/4 tsp each of cayenne pepper and cinnamon. cook for several minutes, stirring constantly. Add 1# sliced carrots and 1 TBS lemon juice. Continue to cook for several minutes then add 2 c. of water, cover tightly and simmer until carrots are tender, about 30 minutes (+/-). Puree the carrot mix with another 1 1/2 c of water. Return to the skillet and whisk in 2 c of yogurt and 1 TBS honey. heat but do not boil. Season to taste with black pepper, cayenne, or salt. Garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve hot. I've never tried this soup cold but the 90 degree heat might prompt me to do so.

hey sweet pea!! kudos on the big win last night at spades. do you think we need to talk t into cards and then we can make it cards a permanent part of family dinner night, either that or always have cardshark lin over for dinner. she likes playing cards I'm sure she'd like that and open invite.....

you are most welcome for the dinner. next weekend stuffed jalapeƱos for papa's day dinner even if I have to go to a much of places to find decent peppers!

There is a great cold spinach soup I used to make. It has been a while this recipe seems very close http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spinach-and-Yogurt-Soup/Detail.aspx

My everyday favorite is trader joes frozen cherries (thawed) over yogurt in the morning so simple and yummy!
